Rage Comic Friday

Well, in an effort to post more I have decided that Tuesdays are How The F-? Tuesdays, in which I post the messed up search teams people find my blog with, and Friday is Rage Comic Friday. Sometimes I will make my own and other times I will find them randomly. I found this one at ragebuilder.com.

So this is one that I fall into every time Wal-Mart is mentioned. One does not simply walk into Wal-Mart for one thing…..

Sweet Geek Art

Here are some sweet splatter paint pictures from artist Arian Noveir, you can find his stuff here or you can buy his stuff here. They are digital, but that doesn’t take away from the awesomeness of the pictures. I could see one of these hanging next to my Cave Johnson framed talking picture.

You can check out some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle here at Dave Rapoza’s blog.

Read This

Seriously, go read this comic. This is absolutely amazing.

I was blown away by how awesome this comic was.

READ THE COMIC HERE. IT IS REALLY GOOD.

The creator’s name is Emily Carroll and major props to her. The story was fantastic and the illustrations were perfect. I wish I had 1/100 the gift she has.

Deadpool Redeemed! Hopefully…

“We have a few more things to do. And then it’s up to the studio to decide whether we’re going to go forward or not. But I’m pretty excited. We have a good script and a good director.” And she added about the character Deadpool, “Yes he was treated totally wrong in the Wolverine film and yes we will redeem him.”

Shuler also stressed that the movie will be staying true to the comic book character. “…we’re gonna give it a little bit of a different look. It’s a different kind of movie. If you know ‘Deadpool’ … it’s true to ‘Deadpool’. So you know, it’ll be violent, and outrageous, and funny, and all that.” (Hopefully that means the movie will break through the fourth wall like it does in the comics!)

That is right boys and girls, they are going to keep it real. As much as the article excites me, I won’t believe a damn thing until I see the movie and know it was kept true to the roots. I can’t help but get excited over every possible person involved in the development of the movie giving feedback and information I want to hear.

If you watched the Wolverine movie, Ryan Reynolds pretty much dominates the screen in the scenes at the beginning. His personality and comedic timing is already on par with Deadpool’s from the comics. Something I released much squee about when I watched the pre-release – *ahem*. At the end though, the already dropped ball only became worse. The thing at the end wasn’t Deadpool, it was a bad three day peyote trip or spicy chili hallucination the writers suffered. Which makes me ask my question to Hollywood again, why do you keep screwing with working ideas?

Anyway, I’m excited for the movie and really hope the studio moves forward with it. I would probably be the first person to the theater in my area and would see it multiple, multiple times if it was true to the comic. I do believe that only Ryan Reynolds could deliver the goods as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, lets hope nobody else screws it up.

Actually, Rhett Reese is the guy writing the screenplay (one of the writers from Zombieland and a fellow Triber – muaha!) so I have confidence the script and dialog will be on target.

Sooo close…. Don’t mess it up now….

/Nerd Rage On – The Man of Steel Movie.

Well, I was looking forward to the new Superman movie. After the synopsis I have a very bad feeling.

“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”

That is right, we have ANOTHER origin story for Superman. Like the synopsis says, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, so I think it is safe to assume most people interested in the movie already know his origin. How about we to some of the more interesting and established arcs in the Superman universe? Can we please?

I know what you are thinking. “But the last Superman movie wasn’t an origin story, it didn’t do that well.”

To which I would reply, “It had no action. Superman punched nothing. I want to see some super action, know what I’m saying?” Yeah the eyeball thing was cool, how about we rip some shit in half and make some villains soil their Aquaman undies? Is it too much to ask?

You know what would make an AMAZING Superman movie? Superman versus Doomsday, or Bizarro Superman. FFS, why the hell do we need ANOTHER origin story.

Superman vs Doomsday

Bizzaro

Oh I have super powers and I’m sad, Earth needs me to defend it but I don’t know how I fit in the world. BLAH BLAH BLAH/WAAH WAAH WAAH.

It is Superman, go punch some bad guys in the face. How can this equation get messed up? It is simple….

Here is what Topless Robot has to say about it:

Yes, ladies, and gentlemen, we’re getting Smallville: The Movie. Not content to just retell Superman’s origin for nth time, the whole fucking movie is apparently now his origin, as if 80% OF THE GODDAMN PLANET DIDN’T ALREADY KNOW WHAT HIS DEAL WAS. So we’ve gone from Superman as mopey, absentee dad to Superman as mopey, unsure boy trying to find his place in the world he doesn’t belong. Forget the fact that we’ve just had 10 fucking seasons of Smallville starring Superman as just that, why on god’s green earth won’t DC give us a Superman movie where Superman is… Superman? You know, a guy who will always do the right thing, will always try, without question or hesitation? A guy who feels he does belong on Earth, because it’s his fucking home, adopted or not?

I’m inclined to agree.

Nerd rage is on. Sweaty, heavy breathing nerd rage.

A Dark Knight Rises Trailer…….. sort of…….

Prepare to have your mind blown out of your ass. I’m not sure what the hell this is or why the hell it was made. In fact watching it hurt my head and I felt IQ points drain out of my nose. So being the stand up guy that I am, I’m going to share with you. Before watching you should prepare yourself

Items you need to watch this:

  1. Velcro Shoes
  2. A helmet
  3. A friend/family member to punch you in the face immediately after it has ended
  4. Duct Tape
  5. And possible a strong alcoholic beverage, preferably something that can be used in a tractor as fuel.

Because we need randomness

This is an awesome video. An anime fan filmed some fight scenes and interactions with some cosplay geeks and made one sweet video. What is sad is that this is more accurate and better edited with CGI than half of the crap Hollywood flushes out.

Are you a fan of Game of Thrones? Watch this buddy comedy mash-up of Bronn and Tyrion.  Click HERE to see the video.

So where have I been? Well… for the past days I have been busy. Doing some planning, working, writing, hanging out with the Mrs and all of that good stuff. Essentially spending time not on a computer.
